Digital making methods

Personal Factory gives you access to fabrication technologies that turn your design files into real products.

We call these technologies “digital making methods”.
And we currently offer three different digital making methods:
• 3D printing
• laser cutting

What is 3D printing?

3D printing is an additive manufacturing process by which a digital file is translated into a physical object by a 3D printer.

The object is made by building up multiple layers of material. A variety of materials can be used for 3D printing, and different 3D printers build objects in different ways.

Here are just a few examples of what you can do with 3D printing.

What is laser cutting?

Laser cutting is a subtractive manufacturing process that cuts a digital design file into a piece of sheet material.

A laser cutting machine uses a computer to direct a high-power laser at the material. The material then melts, burns or vaporizes leaving an edge with a high-quality finish.

Here are just a few examples of what you can do with laser cutting.
