3D printed acoustic guitar from the co-founder of Bespoke Innovations

A beautiful, intricately detailed, work of art.

This 3D printed acoustic guitar was made by Scott Summit, co-founder of Bespoke Innovations, a company that makes custom 3D printed prosthetics. Summit has been working as director of technology for 3D Systems since they acquired his company. He used one of 3D System’s highly sophisticated industrial 3D printers to print the guitar with very fine nylon powder. A few smaller parts were 3D printed in steel and sterling silver.

We previously blogged about 3D printed electric guitars, but an acoustic guitar is a unique challenge, because the sound relies on the form and material properties. According to Summit, the guitar’s sound is “rich and full and has a great tonal range.”
