Cultural icons turned into sliced steel sculptures August 13
art from Park Chan Girl
Korean sculptor Park Chan-Girl has been reinterpreting cultural icons in his striking steel sculpture series.
Slices form topographical reproductions of several familiar figures, each taking on a whole new dynamic energy in these gleaming incarnations.
The exposed structural connecting bolts, while prominent at first, appear to blend into the form and disappear from view as your eye travels over the layers. Click through for a few more examples from Park Chan-Girl.
