Assembling a Makerbot Video

Watch the process of assembling a Makerbot from start to finish.

Youtube user radius226 made this video of the assembly of a Cupcake CNC Makerbot from the beginning to the end of the process. It’s a 10 minute video at 50x speed, which puts the whole process at just over eight hours for the two of them working together. It’s clearly a fairly complicated assembly, but certainly doable in a weekend. I found it oddly mesmerizing to watch the two of them zip around putting it together.

If you want to try this yourself, you can design and make your own Makerbot (or Fab@Home or Reprap) through Ponoko Make. To help you choose, here’s a handy dandy pricing guide.
