Is “custom” a service? A product? Or something else?
I just wanted to share a short post over at the Replicator blog by Joseph Flaherty. Flaherty muses on the many sides of “custom,” a concept that has taken off as the next big thing in business models. But if custom is a business model, what kind of business model is it? Does being in the business of custom mean providing a service or a product? Is it providing an experience or a community? Or is “custom” just an invisible element behind all of those things?
