Win 5 Vector Mega-Packs from Designious

contest runs now through 27 August 2010

Laser-etched graphics are a great way to make your product designs stand out from the crowd. So, we’ve teamed up with Designious to offer three prizes of 5 vector mega packs.

Designious is a design studio that creates and sells royalty free vector art packages for designers. They’ve combined some of their best Vector Packs into combination Mega Packs. They’ve got art in all kinds of genres: seamless patterns, florals, calligraphy, animal heads, naked ladies etc.

Ponoko will select three winners at random to each receive 5 mega packs of their choice. That’s approximately $250 worth of vector art that you can use however you want. To enter, just leave a comment suggesting what new vector art packages you would like to see on Designious. The contest closes at midnight (US Eastern time) on Friday, 27 August.

You can only comment once, and you must leave a valid email address in order to win. (Do not put your email in the actual comment.) By entering this contest you agree to let Ponoko share the email address associated with your comment on this post with Designious.

Good luck!

I’d say a tech package could be useful for electronic enclosures that want to display for example on/off logos, “lightning bolts” or even resistors, basic electronics symbols, etc…

  2. Faith Says:

Nods to architecture would be great – Arts & Crafts, Art Nouveau, mid mod….

    This is a dream contest!!!

  3. Tyler Says:

An anatomy package would be outstanding. Include skeletal structures, nervous systems, organs, neurons, etc.
These all have great design properties that could be integrated into really interesting projects.

  4. Jessica Says:

I think a Victorian style pack would be really nice. It could include images like intricate chandeliers, armchairs, and swirl designs.

  5. Michael Reilly Says:

As a non-designer, access to good quality vector artwork for projects is critical. I do a lot of laser cutting work, and a lot of art is too elaborate to translate well into that medium. So I would like vectors of common/iconic objects that are easily identifiable in one or two colors (which is all you get in many materials). Or repeating patterns that have connected elements (so pieces wouldn’t fall out if laser cut.) Old newspaper and catalog artwork from the early 1900’s would be cool. The product drawings were typically black & white line-art but still very detailed.

  6. Drew Says:

Definitely Furniture. Plan views for room design/layout, Elevations for quick backgrounds. From classic design pieces like intricate Louis XIV chairs through the clean modern Barcelona chair, as well as lamps, chandeliers, tables, sofas and shelving.

    The possibilities are endless.

  7. Jonathan Bowen Says:

I could really use a cobblestone vector pack right now for my current project.

  8. Josh R. Says:

How about a science fiction/space themed vector pack…

  9. Kris Says:

I’m always looking for good animals – especially silhouettes. And dinosaurs, it’s surprisingly hard to find good dinosaur silhouettes.

  10. Adam Blackmon Says:

I would die for these packages. I could use them in so many projects! From t-shirts to websites to postcards or business cards! I would love to use this art to create new and exciting art pieces for myself, my friends and family and my customers. The seamless package would be perfect for business cards, to give them that extra edge everyone seems to be searching for, with these, I could do that!

  11. Jon Says:

I’d like to second Josh’s idea about a science fiction/space themed vector pack… I think it would be great to have seamless textures of moonscapes, as well as general plating (for ships) and various other icons that could be used as badges.

I know for me, I’d love to have more raster work on my designs but finding something that’s both royalty free and of high enough quality for lasers is a tough find.

ooooh – so many I’d like!
Art Deco designs, toys, children’s characters, but most of all I’d love ‘under the microscope’ or ‘patterns from nature’

  16. Kelli Says:

how about some puzzle pieces or vectors with some type of interlocking designs?

  17. Laura Says:

UFO’s , spaceships, things that fly , biplanes ect would be great

  18. Dave Says:

I’d like to see a dedicated mid-century mod pack featuring seamless patterns bundled with furniture and architectural items.

  19. Keri Says:

I’d like to see animals as well- but in that antiqued etched sort of style. Particularly horses, dogs and cats. Thanks for the competition- it’s a great opportunity!

  20. Amber Says:

These are great! I think animal designs would be very useful, but I would also love something art deco.

  21. Daniel Says:

A vehicle pack would be quite handy.. cars, boats, bikes, planes etc

  22. Lindsay Says:

antique ad reproductions (vectorized, of course), monogrammed letters like you’d find at the beginning of a fancy book, and more frames/embellishments!

  23. Tim C Says:

I’d love to see something on a steampunk theme!

  29. Jennifer Says:

Oh, yes, I would love these.

  30. Plaguefox Says:

Repeatable patterns that are more natural looking; rockface, grass texture, etc, not lifelike but symbolic.

    Lovely contest!

  31. Jennifer Says:

And I’m going to finish my thought: More pattern elements. and I agree with Mayan or aztec packs, and bring on the steampunk!

  32. Richard Says:

A Steampunk/gearpunk pattern pack (w/ gears, dirigibles, analog computer, steampunk zeppelins/flying machines,Edwardian era fashion/architecture/steampunk/gearpunk tech, fog pocket watches ect ect ect…) would be awesome…

  33. David Says:

    My suggestions would include:
-Fantasy pack (creatures of myth, monsters, heroes, etc)
-Education/school pack (schools, supplies, books, bulletin boards to be filled in, etc)
    -Shiny! pack (jewelry, gemstones, jewelry scroll work designs) {No- don’t actually call it the shiny pack :P }
-Alternative Healing/Energy-Work pack (chakras, acupuncture/meridian charts, Buddhist/Taoist symbols, etc)
    -Medical or lab supplies pack
    -Castles pack

Some of these themes could be individual packs, some would be broken down into smaller categories, as they incorporate multiple sub-themes and a lot of graphic potential.
