Chair/Chair Spells it Out

Erik Ku’s Mission Redefinition

Mission Redefintion is a series of exercises by Erik Ku to explore the redefinition of a series of subjects through graphic design.

Mission No. 2, the Chair/Chair takes inspiration from the American contemporary artist Joseph Kosuth, One and Three Chair. Instead of giving new definition, the concept of a chair is redefined by using the alphabet. One is able to construct a chair by assembling the letters.

Sure it is a little clunky but interesting all the same as a conceptual piece of flat pack furniture.

Other missions include the Adult Coloring Book which is an explicit exploration ntended to be colored with crayons by adults. I can imagine these being a hit at prison craft time. This along with U.Rain bottlea beverage product that comes from human urine. The idea is to redefine the waste item into a commercial product”, and of course Pure toilet water Repackaged toilet water from his apartment.

Erik Ku Just graduated from School of Visual Arts in N.Y.C.. And now is looking for a job.

Good Luck
