David Gardner to Release New Book on Mass Customization

Mass Customization Expert, David J. Gardner has announcde that he has signed an agreement with Happy About of Cupertino, California, to publish a new book about mass customization in the Spring of 2009.

The title is Mass Customization and it is sub-titled An Enterprise-Wide Business Strategy. The book reviews How Build to Order, Assemble to Order, Configure to Order, Make to Order & Engineer to Order Manufacturers Increase Profits and Better Satisfy Customers.

Though the title may sound a little dry for the average reader at least it is indicative of the further acceptance of consumer empowerment to the business and manufacturing world.

David Gardner is a management consultant, speaker, author and blogger. He holds MBA and BA degrees and has been Board Approved by the Society for the Advancement of Consulting (SAC) in the area of “Mass Customization Strategy and Implementation.”

The book even gets a forward by Frank Piller and the nod of approval from Mass Customization legend Joseph Pine II, Author, Mass Customization: The New Frontier in Business Competition, The Experience Economy, and his latest book Authenticity.

Joseph said:
“Any manufacturer planning on shifting from Mass Production to Mass Customization had better understand that it is a company-wide initiative, not something just for manufacturing. Learn how to make it your business strategy by reading David Gardner’s insightful, practical book. And if you’re not planning on shifting to Mass Customization–you better read it all the more.”
