The Amazing Layers of Jen Stark December 14

“Jen’s star is rising” as it’s said in ArtStreet’s interview with the MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art) Fiber’s grad turned Miami Art Basel sensation.

I mentioned I would be focusing on a certain medium this month: paper. Jen Stark’s paper sculptures are captivating, colorful, complex and especially inspirational to those using laser-cutting as a tool because of their layered nature. Although Jen uses an exacto for her sculpture, her work is an amazing example of creating 3D art with layers and layers of planar material.

That is really creative stuff… too bad a laser cutter burns edges instead of producing an edge produced by a knife.
