A video up on you tube shows a beta users first experience with Desktop Factory’s soon to be released 3D printer.
Brad’s (from Printo3d.com) model of a customized iphone case does show up some of the printers limitations but the model looks really tough in an empire strikes back, technological decay kinda way. You can see from the video how precious a customized product is to the designer/user, how a personalized product holds value far beyond a mass produced design. I can’t wait to see what more designs start to flood in.
As mentioned in a couple of previous posts, Desktop Factory is about to release their 3D printer for just under U$5,000. This will make 3d printing highly accessible to high schools, universities and even hobbyist’s.
